It’s embarrassing, and it shows the person who reads it that you couldn’t be bothered enough to give it a read through. So, take the time to make sure that it’s totally correct with spellings and also make sure that you give it a read through for grammar as well. If you are addressing someone by name – the reader of the cover letter, that is – make sure that you’ve spelt their name right, too.

    Create an overall good impression: This is the first way that the interviewer is going to get to know you, so the better the cover letter is, the better the chances are that you’re going to get an interview and/or the position.
